MetroStar Systems has been named winner of the W3 Silver Award by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA). The award was presented to MetroStar for its work supporting the U.S. Department of State’s Global Counterterrorism Forum (GCTF).
MetroStar helped the GCTF achieve their mission of developing tools and materials that enhance global counterterrorism initiatives. The result is a multi-lingual toolkit residing on a responsive web platform and native mobile apps that is currently used in over 70 countries.
“We’re honored to be recognized for our work supporting one of our Nation’s most critical missions,” said Jeff Behrbaum, Director, Mobile, MetroStar Systems. “This award highlights our team’s bold and innovative approach to providing web and mobile intelligence services to federal agencies.”
In supporting this tool, MetroStar leveraged multi-platform capabilities, enhanced good practices documentation, integrated third-party application program interfaces, and provided operational insight based on open source data.
The W3 Awards honors outstanding websites, web marketing, web video, mobile sites/apps, and social content created by some of the best interactive agencies, designers, and creators worldwide.
“The creativity and quality of this season’s entries raised the bar once again,” said Derek Howard, Director, AIVA. “We applaud the talents and dedication our winners showcased and commend all of this year’s entrants for their commitment to furthering the quality of the content we view online.”
