MetroStar Systems Honored for “Light the Night” Effort
MetroStar Systems (MetroStar) was recognized for the outstanding effort put forth to raise funds and awareness for the “Light the Night” event supporting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). The event took place in October at the Reston Town Center and we were able to raise over $22,000 for the cause. Originally, the goal set was to reach $15,000 for the organization’s mission, but quickly surpassing the expectations, we were able to contribute more than imagined.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s “Light the Night Walk” funds treatments that are saving the lives of patients today. LLS is making cures happen by providing patient support services, advocating for lifesaving treatments and pioneering the most promising cancer research anywhere. All of the donations raised by the MetroStar team will go directly towards these initiatives, helping discover new treatments and save lives.
This dedication to philanthropy is part of our core values, part of our culture. Our Collaborative Action of Responsible Employees (CARES) program represents our commitment to giving back and maintaining the connection to the communities that have given us so much. CARES is about making a positive impact and is organized around three primary groups:
• Health & Humanitarian
• Education & Communities
• Hometown Heroes
Our CARES will continue to thrive in our culture as we pledge to drive positive change for the community. We are passionate about giving back and honored for being recognized for our efforts. When great people work together, wonderful things can happen. For more information regarding the “Light the Night” program and how you can get involved, visit our page on their website for details.
