Virtual Training Can Remove Boundaries for Your Team
A challenge for the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) is training officers in geographically disparate locations. We developed a virtual training platform that is open source, secure, and customized for law enforcement agencies.
The platform features video collaboration tools, recording, registration and enrollment, local administration capabilities, and customized multimedia equipment solutions for high quality classroom-to-classroom training experiences. Our mobile access and dial-in access to meeting and training events allows users to participate from anywhere. The catalog of virtual trainings we provide support on average to over 10 sessions per month from 18 institutions and 7 non-academy affiliated organizations. Encouraging multicultural collaboration, our platform provides virtual training in three languages (English, Spanish, and Dutch).
Our work creating a custom interface provided INL greater class participation from trainees in different locations, increased knowledge sharing, and has created better opportunities for collaboration.
