Systems and Software Integration have been at the heart of MetroStar Systems from its inception in 1999. In 2001, we have strategically embraced the .NET platform and immediately introduced new agile methodologies for development and advancements in software best practices that were never realized before. Today, MetroStar Systems focuses on delivering on the latest XML driven service based architectures to its federal and commercial customers.

There are four critical needs for the insertion of cutting-edge technologies into Web based net-centric initiatives:
  • Automating the manual tasks that are currently used to create and maintain Web sites for significant data. Including introduction of Business Driven solutions that are authored and maintained by power users, which orchestrate and deliver true business processes that drive system design

  • Automating the handling of critical data from multiple C2ISR sources in a vertical and horizontal fusion of data distribution

  • Building Web based interfaces to pull data from disparate data sources, or legacy applications

  • Automating Information Superiority and its Spectrum. In this case, Spectrum is the medium that supports the mobility, dispersion, and high tempo of operations

The emergence of Web Services show great promise in providing the means to solve various common organizational challenges and business problems. In essence, the basis of Web Services and the efficiency gained from Web Services in other industries are the result of “Automating Information Sharing and Data Distribution.” Key principles behind Web services are stunningly simple, and are nothing new in the world of distributed computing and the Internet

  • The web service provider defines a format for requests for its service, along with the response the service will generate

  • A computer makes a request for the Web Services across the network

  • The Web Service performs some action, and sends the response back

MetroStar Systems helps organizations understand the valuable uses of Web Services within their unique environment. This includes the feasibility of the delivery of tangible ROI, cost savings, and improved maintenance operations derived from collaboration and real-time access to information. This service is provided by our industry leading Systems and Software Integration Experts.

We developed this process as part of our Systems and Software Integration Process because we realized that the necessity to interconnect today’s business models have turned the enterprise from an “unstructured” space into a continually evolving environment that needs to react and adapt quickly. This requires developing, aggregating and reconfiguring complex business processes that run on multiple platforms, in record periods of time. Since time becomes essence, no wonder why the ability to reuse or repurpose existing processes is a must for every organization.

Our Software and Systems Integration team is our most mature department and has the expertise to help organizations architect the Next Generation Collaborative Enterprise. The following figure demonstrates the technologies and approach to MetroStar Systems’ next generation enterprise, including use of technologies for enterprise messaging, content management, data distribution, project management are all maintained through secure Windows 2003 servers.
