New Media Strategy & Website Optimization

Objective

Deploy new media products and digital strategies to better educate Gen X and Gen Y (also known as the Millennial Generation) on Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), while simultaneously combatting real-life stressors.

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) provides a comprehensive system of assistance for American veterans and their families. The VA not only aims to deliver the high-quality patient care and veteran benefits, but to also pioneer solutions for the real-time needs of our soldiers. MetroStar has initiated research, as well as innovative, multiplatform solutions, to further the VA’s mission.

In the early 2000s, at the peak of the Iraq war, new studies on PTSD emerged; aroundof Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom (OEF/OIF) veterans were returning home with PTSD.

The VA commissioned MetroStar to develop PTSD coping mechanisms and awareness strategies using modern technologies. MetroStar designed, developed, and deployed a new mobile optimized website for the VA, ensuring that it would suit the consumption preferences of audiences ranging from the medical professional to the military family member. From start to finish, our applied an Agile Development methodology to conduct research, and employ multimodal capabilities, like touch technology. Our team also developed new channels of communication, including audio and visual warfighter diaries, leadership training, and customized mobile applications.
